Resolution protocol
- 01
Hour 1: set up your pipeline
Start with 5 stages maximum. Settings → Pipelines → Add Stage. Name them after buyer actions: 'Contacted', 'Qualified', 'Demo Done', 'Proposal Out', 'Contract Sent'. Avoid internal names like 'Rep Working' — they describe rep activity, not buyer progress.
- 02
Hour 2: connect email and add custom fields
Settings → Email Sync → connect Gmail or Outlook. All sent and received emails now log automatically. Add custom fields: Source (dropdown), Deal Size (currency), Use Case (text). Three custom fields is better than 30 — adoption collapses with long forms.
- 03
Hour 3: set up automations and import
Create two automations: (1) deal enters 'Proposal Out' → create 3-day follow-up task. (2) Deal wins → create 'kickoff call' activity. Import your contacts via CSV. You're live.
